Are you a passionate young performer, eager to take your musical theatre skills to the next level? Here’s your chance to shine on stage and work alongside talented adult musical theatre professionals in an exciting, high-energy production of Epic the Musical!

This opportunity is open to all young people between the ages of 12-18, existing and new students. Rehearsals will take place in Malahide's St Sylvester's Parish Centre, Co. Dublin (beside the dart).

Epic the Musical, created by the renowned Jorge Rivera-Herrans, is a stunning concept album that we’re thrilled to bring to life in May 2026. Drama House is offering an extraordinary opportunity for students aged 12-18 to develop their skills in a truly professional musical theatre environment.​ For the first time ever, we’re combining the energy of our amateur student actors with the expertise of seasoned professionals. We have been busy casting some of Ireland's top Musical Theatre talent to work along side our students, allowing you to:

• Work with Industry Professionals: Experience firsthand how professional musical theatre productions run. This is a golden opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business, gaining invaluable insights that will set you apart in your future acting or musical theatre endeavors.

• Enhance Your Skills: From singing and acting to dancing, you’ll have the chance to elevate your craft in a professional setting. You’ll also be trained in advanced techniques, including stage combat in full scale battle sequences and complex choreography, which will push you to grow and develop in ways you never expected. This is a unique opportunity to add a new skill set to your repertoire that will serve you in future productions and build your theatrical CV.

• Collaborate with a Diverse Team: Not only will you work alongside adult actors, but you’ll also be part of a community of talented teachers and trainers. Together, you’ll learn how to collaborate, improve your performance techniques, and elevate your craft in a supportive and inspiring atmosphere.

• A Full Professional Experience: From rehearsals to the final performance, you’ll gain experience in every aspect of the production process. Learn about stage direction, set design, and artistic choices. You’ll even have the opportunity to get hands-on in creating costumes and props, contributing to the visual and artistic design of the show. You’ll help shape the look and feel of Epic the Musical from the ground up!

• Level up: Drama House really wanted students to see what it looks like when a professional actor comes to rehearsal. How they conduct themselves, how they prepare and how they present themselves is all key learning for our aspiring performers. The creation of this learning opportunity was the exact reason for combining adult actors with our student cast. We cant wait to see how the enthusiastic students level up their performances under the influence of professional actors. 

• Perform at The Helix: This isn’t just any production – Epic the Musical will have a three-night run at the prestigious Helix Theatre in May 2026! Get ready to perform on a professional stage in front of a live audience and experience the thrill of a truly epic theatrical experience.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain invaluable experience in both performance and production. Whether you’re interested in acting, choreography, stage combat, or artistic design, Epic the Musical offers something for every aspiring performer. There are a number of lead characters and speaking parts assigned to the student cast. Once we have everyone signed up, we will be in touch with audition information for lead roles.

This class will run on a Saturday afternoon (roughly 3.30-7.30pm) from September 2025 - May 2026. Students must be available on the 27th, 28th & 29th of May for shows at the Helix. This is a fee paying class and will be priced in line with all Drama House classes. Scholarships are available for those who need them.

*Full Disclosure: This musical is a dark retelling of Homers' Oddessy. As a result it has dark elements rooted in Greek Mythology that include but are not limited to infanticide, murder, mutiny, mutilation of monsters and other gory details. It is not a typical Drama House junior musical, with jazz hands and a kick line. This is scenes of battle and powerful characters fighting for their lives told through the theatrical magic and song. It is not for the faint of heart, but will be an incredible experience for our young people to get involved with.
